Happy BirZday Jon Anderson !
Jon Anderson est ne le 25 oct 1944 a Accrington, dans le Lancashire, Angleterre.
Tres rapidement le petit John Roy (Jon c'est quand meme plus court !), a des aptitudes certaines pour la musique, deja a 10 ans il joue de la washboard dans un petit groupe.
Mais son pere tombe malade et a 15 ans, Jon est oblige d'aider sa famille financierement en faisant des petits boulots, notamment livreur...ce qui finalement n'est pas si mal car pendant ses tournees il ecoute de la musique comme Elvis, Eddie Cochran, et autres Everly Brothers qui vont vite l'inspirer...
A 18, il rejoint un groupe, les Warriors ou les Electric Warriors dont il partage le chant avec son frere Tony...et Ian Wallace a la batterie (King Crimson, Dylan)...
Les Warriors vont donner des petits concerts dans le nord de l'Angleterre et notamment au Cavern Club de Liverpool, la ville des Beatles...
En 64, le groupe signe chez Decca et enregistre 2 simples.
En 67, Jon quitte le groupe pendant une tournee en Allemagne...Il dira lui-meme "Au debut on s'amusait trop mais on ne repetait pas assez, apres on consommait trop de drogues et on ne s'amusait plus...ca m'a rendu dingue"...
Au printemps 68, il tente de se lancer en solo sous le nom de Hans Christian, et enregistre 2 simples, mais il n'est pas du tout emballe par les chansons qui lui sont plutot imposees...
Courant ete 68 il fait la rencontre grace a un ami commun du bassiste Chris Squire, tout de suite le courant passe et il le rejoint dans son groupe le Mabel Greer's Toyshop avec Peter Banks a la guitare...
Quelques semaines plus tard le groupe Yes se forme, avec Anderson, Squire, Banks, le batteur Bill Bruford et Tony Kaye aux claviers, et ils commencent a travailler...
La suite est incroyable...
L'histoire de Yes est a elle seule un vrai roman...je ne sais pas si un groupe dans l'histoire de la musique a autant ete separe puis reforme puis scinde avec d'autres musiciens, enfin c'est tellement plein de rebondissements que je ne peux ici en relater les faits tant c'est long et complique...
